About Williams, Arizona

Williams, known as “The Gateway to the Grand Canyon,” is a quaint mountain town is situated on Historic Route 66 and has a feel of the Old West, as the downtown area contains more than six blocks of historic buildings, restaurants, breweries and shops bursting with memorabilia, souvenirs and various types of entertainment. Williams is home to the Grand Canyon Railway, which is an excursion train that runs between the historic train depot in the heart of Williams up to the Grand Canyon, which is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. During the winter months (particularly late November and December), the Grand Canyon Railway transforms into the “Polar Express” attraction where thousands of families with children of all ages board the train (most in their holiday pajamas) for a magical holiday experience riding the Polar Express train from the decorated station up to the “North Pole.”

Williams is also home to Bearizona Wildlife Park, which is a very unique park where visitors can see bears, bison, wolves, and other North American critters, seemingly wandering free in the 160-acre facility. During the holiday season, Bearizona also becomes a highly popular holiday attraction with beautifully decorated trees, decorations and attractions, which draws families back to visit Williams year after year.
